This course is designed to enable heads of local governments to learn about crisis management, focusing primarily on natural disasters. Participants will be introduced to the latest research findings and information regarding disaster response activities by national and local governments in Japan. On the basis of the information provided, they will discuss how to respond as the head of local government in the event of a large-scale disaster, and examine how local governments should handle crisis management.
