Building Accessibility
The center’s main exhibition areas include the West and East Building.
Both buildings have a set viewing sequence, but visitors can move around barrier-free on flat floors, ramps, elevators, and escalators. Handrails and braille blocks are also provided. Staff and volunteers are available to answer any questions you may have.

Multilingual Support for Exhibits
Although most exhibits are in Japanese, many exhibits also include multiple language translations. In addition, the following multilingual exhibits are available:
West Bldg. 4F Film “Living with This Town” (15 min.)
Audio translators available in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
West Bldg. 3F Exhibit
The materials related to the earthquake disaster with stories of people’s experiences are displayed in both English and Japanese.
Details of these materials are also available in English, Chinese, and Korean on smartphones or tablets.
West Bldg. 3F: VTR Screening for Telling Live Lessons from the Disaster
Video footage of disaster experiences is available with audio and subtitles in various languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Thai, Indonesian, and Vietnamese).
East Wing 1F Theatre for the Heart Video “Let’s Run Away”
Audio translators available in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
Facilities
Various facilities are available for the safety and comfort of visitors, including those who need wheelchairs.

First Aid Room
Located on the 1st floor of the West Building. Please ask the General Information Desk on the 1st floor when you need to use the room. Nurses are not on duty.

Located on the 1st and 4th floors of the West Building and on the 1st and 3rd floors of the East Building.
